my story

Aesthetic balance, patterns and light are what encourages my Art. Influenced by Louise Nevelson's black and white sculptures, and Marisol 's family subjects, I began in collage/sculpture, putting out an enormous amount of work. I enjoy the hard lines interacting with black and white.  It creates a tension begging the comfort of the middle.

Color influenced the work seen in my paintings after being with the black and white of collage.  It took me to the other end of the spectrum,  and was needed after a long period of despair.

Most recently I've been experimenting in wool.  It's a medium that is soft and transparent yet not fully cooperative in it's natural state.   Wool has a wide variety of uses and I'm exploring felting and spinning, while still enjoying it's natural state.

"Intentionally left in its natural state,
This wool conveys the transparency often absent in today's culture.
The uniqueness of each fleece is in control,
Leaving me simply the keeper of its delicacy."
